Thinking about how the vacuum cannon would work, I eventually decided that I didn't like it and ended up replacing the penguin with a piggy bank style player character that would make more sense in the context of collecting and dispersing coins (in order to dispatch enemies). After modelling the pig and experimenting briefly with Mixamo animations, I proceeded to animate the pig myself, starting with the idle and run cycles and culminating in jumping and punching animations. At some point in this process I started to move away from the idea of collecting and throwing coins in favour of a new concept that involved using environment blocks as projectiles. To make the punch feel more impactful, I made a boxing glove that would appear during the punch animation. I prototyped a rudimentary 3rd-person camera controller and aiming system in unity.
